We built anti-harassment.co.uk to bridge that gap: to give SMEs the practical, legally grounded training they need, without the complexity or cost that usually comes with it.
About
Anti-harassment.co.uk was founded by John Hassells, an employment solicitor with more than 20 years’ experience advising employers, from growing SMEs to established businesses navigating complex HR situations.
Over two decades of practice, and one thing is clear: having policies in place is not enough. Training is essential. The right training gives managers the tools to spot problems early, helps staff understand where the line is, and builds a workplace culture where harassment is less likely to happen in the first place.
Larger organisations tend to have in-house legal teams, HR departments, and Learning & Development budgets to do this. Smaller and mid-sized employers often don’t. And yet the legal obligations are the same, and since October 2024, they’ve become significantly more demanding.
The new preventative duty under the Worker Protection (Amendment of Equality Act 2010) Act means employers must now take reasonable steps to prevent sexual harassment before it happens. Waiting for a complaint is no longer enough. And in October 2026, new laws will require employers to also take all reasonable steps to prevent third parties (such as customers, visitors, suppliers, member of the public) from harassing their employees during the course of their work.
What we do
We provide accessible, expert-led, anti-harassment training designed specifically for small and medium-sized employers.
Our training is built on real-world employment law experience — not off-the-shelf content. It’s practical, relevant, up-to-date with the latest legislation, and designed to help your managers and staff understand not just what the rules are, but how to apply them in real situations.
Whether you’re rolling out training for the first time, updating your approach in light of the new laws, or looking to build a genuinely respectful workplace culture, we can help.
A note on our approach
Compliance matters. But we believe the best workplaces aren’t just legally compliant — they’re places where people feel genuinely safe and respected.
Our training is designed with both goals in mind: protecting your business, and supporting your people.
Who we work with
We work across all sectors with SME owners, HR leads, and office managers who know they need to get this right but don’t have an in-house legal or learning team to provide the right training. Some sectors, for example, hospitality and retail, have particularly high third party harassment risks and we’re here to help.
